A Wide Range of Applications for Eaton VFDs

The portfolio of Eaton variable frequency drive (VFD) products, also catalogued under adjustable frequency drives, provides system managers with a unique combination of compact design, significant flexibility in application and control, and a clean power operation in one. VFDs have become essential system management tools for engines that have to sync with other industrial systems. Eaton’s products allow both for upgrading and renovation of various environmental scenarios.

The ACE DG1

Specifically built to be bullet-proof, the ACE DG1 stands alone with its explosion-proof rating and benefits for ultra-high-risk applications. The last thing anyone wants in a volatile system environment is a component that can trigger a cascading event. The Eaton ACE DG1 ensures that a safe control can be mounted in a compact form right next to the motor targeted and with a protected chassis. And it still includes all the standard VFD benefits of adjustable controllers, diagnostics and energy efficiency.

CFX VFDs

Being intentionally designed with tuned passive filters, the CFX VFDs from Eaton are ideal when line harmonics must be eliminated or minimized as much as possible. Because the CFX design is a built-in safety stop against overloading and overheating, it’s ideal as a VFD for generators and other sensitive electrical motors and engines.

The CPX-18

As an 18-pulse VFD, the CPX-18 from Eaton produces one of the cleanest energy control points. It’s an ideal application to prevent damage to upstream transformer channels.

The LCX VFD

Where temperature is a key sensitivity, the LCX liquid-cooled VFD is a perfect controller to put in place. It can run with a cooling resource of a basic potable water base or a water-glycol base for a coolant. Both are great heat sinks, and the LCX VFD becomes the controller of choice for a UL Type 4X environment.
